A No-Fail White Fish Recipe for Every Occasion

Adding wild pollock to your dinner is one of the simplest ways to liven up the routine without compromising taste or expediency. There are a million ways that you can prepare it, but unlike other kinds of fish, some of the tastiest ways are also the easiest and least time-consuming! Learning how to prepare a simple dish based around a tasty cut of wild pollock will allow you to put another foolproof recipe into your arsenal. This way, the next time you have some kind of last-minute event, or need to prepare a meal very quickly, you will have a delicious, fresh, Alaskan wild seafood that you can whip up in a second. If you have another white fish like cod, you can simply replace the wild pollock and you will be good to go!

One of the simplest and easiest ways to prepare whitefish is to bake it. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and put the glass baking dish in the oven with no fish in it (this will be explained later). You want to begin by "washing" the fish in lemon. Simply squeeze the juice of a lemon into a dish and rub it all over the fish, so that it covers every corner of the skin and flesh. This technique can help bring out the flavor in any white meats that you are cooking - it even works for chicken and pork!

Next, you want to lightly coat the wild pollock fillets in butter. To make a very simple, light, clean tasting fish, you can add one or two simple spices - it is best if they are fresh. Put a little bit of parsley, or maybe chop up some green onions, or add a bit of coriander. You can add a little bit of black or white pepper, and the tiniest bit of salt. Now, you want to remove the glass baking dish from the oven - don't forget to use an oven mitt! Put the fish in the dish - you should hear a sizzling, searing sound. The reason you let the dish heat up beforehand is because you want it to be hot so that it seals in the juices. Now put the dish with the wild pollock in it in the oven, and let back for 25 or so minutes.
